Sample programs.

Where the day happens

The woods, the base and the gear room

  • Preschoolers seen from behind collecting sticks in a wooded corner while a teacher watches

    The woods and the meadow

Most of the morning is outside, on the trail, around the stump circle and in the meadow. The group walks to a different spot each day and settles there for play, projects and snack.

  • A nature classroom with a table of pinecones, shells and baskets of sticks, and a plant shelf by a window

    The indoor base

A heated room beside the trail, with a long table, a story rug and a nature shelf of pinecones, shells and sticks. We go back every day for lunch.

  • A coat room with a long bench, low hooks and a shelf of rain boots under a window

    The gear room

Boots, rain pants and mittens live on hooks and a long bench by the door. A shelf of loaners is there for families who are still finding their own.
